In one of the most significant upgrades of the offseason, the Astros have announced that the new CF pavilion will have both Torchys Tacos and Shake Shack.

I went to the new shake shack in the galleria for lunch the other week and it was a pretty tasty burger.

Torchy's gets a pass from me as long as El Real is still selling tacos on real tortillas.

Tacodeli every day of the week and twice on Sunday. I think there's one on the way for Houston.

There is a multitude of tacos better than Torchy's within a quarter mile radius of your seat at the park.

My understanding is that he just pulled out of the Italian restaurants he was doing w/ Crane.  The El Real and Little Bigs locations in MMP stay put.

Just down the block from my office.  I'm excited/terrified.

Never really understood the Torchy's thang.  The queso is ok but other than that meh.  Tons of other places that are much better even in North Austin.  Heard they just opened a new Torchy's in Ft Collins.  I guess they're nation wide.

Some of the best food in the world is found in places most people don't want to go to. You should check out Ken's Tacos on Dessau and Rundberg. It's a little less risky.

It's not as bad as Lamar/Rundberg or Rundberg/35 but it's definitely rougher than when I was growing up. My folks are on one of the good streets in that area, but you don't have to go very far to feel like you're in a different city.

Ken's on Dessau is breakfast taco Mecca.

Pictures look pretty good.  Noticing the cut out high above CF - are those for TV cameras?  Are we going to start having a straight up angle on TV rather than the view from left-center?

Pretty sure I head Blum say the other day that they'd have more TV cameras with the new configuration, but not different. I hope they don't change it to pure center. Discomfiting.

There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

I get that I'm likely in the minority on this, but I love the true center camera! I feel like I can see far easier how much the ball is "moving" as well as location on the corners.

As NATE COLBERT mentioned, MMP will have a true CF camera now.   They said it will be like what you see in St Louis.

I grabbed a screen cap of a Cardinals game and an Astros game from last year.   If you click the link you can see the difference.

Cool, thanks for doing that. I like it, as long as the angle is fairly low like that. I feel like I've seen some "true center" views that are from higher up, and I did not care for it.

Im pro CF cam as well, you can tell much better whether a pitch is over the plate or not.

That St. Louis angle is fine. I found the ESPN experiment of several years ago discomfiting, even though yeah you definitely got a better view of movement and the strike zone. I think the Twins also have a pretty high true center angle. I hope we're more like the St. Louis one. Maybe Luhnow can steal that idea from Chris Correa.

I prefer the straight-on CF shot.

What would make me really happy is if they would go back to extensive use of the camera behind the catcher.  It's rarely, if ever, used anymore.  There's probably not even a camera there in most games.

Shit. I totally forgot there was a game last night.

I like it, although it does look like it is very slightly to the 1B side - the mound doesn't line up with the plate.

It's slightly left of center, where it should be for artists and pitchers.
