I was going to joke about Peacock or someone else being injured, but then I remembered that recurring Astro Jed Lowrie, who had started the first month or so blazing hot last year, had that stupid thumb injury, was out for 3 months, and then clearly wasn't himself when he came back. Remember that before Correa came up there was a month or more with Villar as the primary SS. If Lowrie hadn't gotten hurt, he may have slid over to 3B for Correa anyway and still been a productive part of the lineup (with Valbuena at 1B).
But back to the point, yes, the McCullers and Keuchel injuries made it a big uphill climb. Sadly enough, Fiers is your 2016 Astros ERA leader with a 4.48.
