Ken Giles was struck hard on right wrist by a line drive during batting practice and went down. Scary moment.

B1:

Springer reaches on an E4
Gurriel strikes out swinging
Altuve with a soft liner to LF, and Buss whiffs at it, Springer to 3B, Altuve to 2B on a 2-base E7
Correa intentionally walked
Gattis takes strike one 3 feet off the plate...takes strike two right down the middle...takes strike three right down the middle
Marwin hammers one in the hole, robbed by the secondbaseman...score it 4-3

Astros leave the bases juiced...no score

It was horrible...one of the worst calls you'll ever see at this level.  That doesn't mean Gattis can take the next two meatballs with the bases loaded.

I'm on the Angels broadcast tonight, they cannot get over how "well" Chacin turned that double play. I've seen it at least eight times now.

Was that a wide home plate on Jakes at bat on the third strike call or was it just me?

B8:

Achter in for the Halos...

Gattis...quickly 0-2...works the count full...grounds out 6-3
Marwin...full count...soft liner to LF...Ortega dives, but can't grab it...gets by him, but Marwin is just jogging down the line, so he legs it into a single.
Hernandez...getting royally fucked by that fuckwad Joyce...flies out F9

Achter out, Alvarez in

Hinch counters with Stassi...who is 0 for 2016...grounds into FC, Marwin out 6-4

5-4 Angels

Series would be more appropriate, and probably season.

Considering the injuries and inconsistency, Hinch seems to have done a decent job this year. That being said, I hope Lunhow throws every dollar he has to spend at some fireballing bullpen arms this winter.

T9:

Pennington...who entered the game in the 8th for Petit...drives one into the LCF gap, Marisnick runs it down
Bandy with a rule book double off the RF line
Ortega doubles to RF, Bandy scores
Escobar grounds out 5-3

That's all for Gustave, Chapman in...

Calhoun doubles to RF on the first pitch, Ortega scores

Chapman out, Neshek in

Trout...full count...doubles to LF, Calhoun scores
Pujols intentionally walked
Cron grounds to 2B, but no one is there on the shift...Trout scores, Pujols to 2B
Simmons grounds to 1B, off of Marwin's glove to Altuve who throws it into the dugout...Pujols scores, Cron to 3B and Simmons to 2B...scored an E1 and a TE4
Pennington lines out to CF

10-4 Angels

So is the bullpen now toast after the innings lately because of the rotation mess?

B9:

Bailey in...

Marisnick blown away on 90 mph fastballs down the middle
Springer singles to CF
Gurriel grounds to SS...who bobbles it, but gets Springer at 2B as he's loafing into the bag
Altuve grounds out 5-3 on the first pitch

Astros shit the bed...10-4

You''re what...4 back with three teams in front of you with 7 to play?  It's over.

Thanks for the PBP Mr. Hudson.

It was reasonably fun for a while...the Angels only had one hit and the Astros with a three run lead through 7 1/3.  They end up getting blown out.

Another pathetic loss. April killed us. No postseason makes this season a failure and puts real pressure on 2017 following the rebuild experiment.

That's the third winnable game lost in a row. Win those three and they're tied for the wild card. Brutal way to finish up.

Even if the teams in front of us start stomping on there dicks, we still need to win a bunch of games and it is hard to see that happening.

It wasn't Pujols who gave up 15 fucking runs in 2 2/3 innings.

April was bad but there is no way this team would get out of the first playoff series if they go in. Rotation is a shambles and the pen is worn out. And then there is the offense.

I like what I've seen of Peacock this month. I would be ok with him going into next season as the 5th starter replacing Fister whose contract is up. If he can last until mid-June or so before breaking down maybe Paulino or someone is ready by then. Or maybe he avoids injury and wins half of his decisions. He is throwing the ball well though.
