Season 4 episode 9.

If you don't know what I'm talking about or don't give a shit no worries, move along.

Watch (or rewatch) the first 10 minutes. Holy shit. It's like "watching" this forum instead of reading it.

The opposing coach from the "other" tavern is such a Ranger.... not so much a Cardinal, Cub, or a Dodger. Clearly a Ranger (which is a step below the pimply ass of the Reds even...)

The rest of the episode is pretty solid but this one does a great job of representing what happens when one "team" gets inside the other team's head. The Rangers have certainly done that this season (and last) to the Astros. There's no "luck" involved. This current Astro team can't seem to perform like they should in order to belong in the same conversation.

Clearly the Astros need to sign Dianne Chambers to a one year deal. Fucking Luhnow...

I'll never forget that line.   Looking up at the pimply, mis-shappen ass of the Reds.  Classic OWA

I had the same situation coaching at McCallum when we played Anderson, our hated rival. We wanted to beat them too much and, consequently, did not, regardless of the relative strengths/weaknesses of the two teams. They were important games for the standings in the district but were life and death for us. In my two years back in coaching baseball 1995-97, with very good teams, we were 1-4 against them, and the one win was in a tournament.
Often wrong, but never in doubt.

Closet thing I can come to Rangers/Astros was Rice/UH baseball 2001-2012.   Rice was better most seasons, but their utter domination was something to behold.  Wayne Graham was renting space in Rayner Noble's head.  Rayner was already wound ridiculously tight, when it came to games vs Rice he took it to a new level.  UH would invent ways to lose, it was a sight to behold.

As a coog the 1st few years were maddening, but over time it just became laughable.

A couple #s, during that time Rice was 51-11 vs UH.  21 games decided by 2 runs or less, Rice won 17.

An example of one of the bigger dick steppings, 2008, one of Rayner's last good teams.  Coogs score 6 in the first, are up 11-5 in the 6th, and 11-9 going into the 9th.

Here is the play by play for B9.
Rice 9th - Mozingo singled to pitcher. Mozingo advanced to second on a
wild pitch. Seastrunk reached on an error by cf. Luna struck out looking.
Padron walked; Seastrunk advanced to second; Mozingo advanced to third. Zornes
singled through the right side, 2 RBI; Padron advanced to third; Seastrunk
scored, unearned; Mozingo scored. Comerota reached on a fielder's choice, bunt,
RBI; Zornes advanced to second; Padron scored. 3 runs, 2 hits, 1 error, 2
LOB.

SMH.

There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Indeed.  This video of his ~200 k's is mesmerizing.  Very nice running FB, good changeup, nice yacker.  The hitter reactions are funny too.  FYI, 159kmph is 98mph.

It is.  Only watched about a third, but was wowed. Don't know if it is something with the video, but some of the movement looks wiffle ballish.

His splitter is ridiculous. I can't wait to hear that a lot of MLB teams don't like him because he only has two pitches. Like they didn't like Trout because they could only watch him in the summer. They couldn't evaluate him properly, you know.

I know less than nothing about Japanese baseball, but don't they use the same ball MLB does?

The ball is slightly smaller, I'm pretty sure, in NPB.
