Good grief, athletes and their money. What kind of numbnuts hand over their cash without doing even the simplest of due diligence (like checking whether someone is a CPA or not)?

The worst business experience I've ever had was with a client/partner who insisted on starting every meeting with a discussion of how religious and devoted to the Lord he was. In between was request to steal drawings and other proprietary data and unending dishonesty with a little racism thrown in for spice.

It cost me nine months and tens of thousands of dollars to be rid of them.

I run from anyone who wants to inject religion into business. When they say: "I'm a Christian so I do business accordingly", I hear: "I'm a Charlatan and will take you for everything I can".

Christians certainly don't have the monopoly on being crooks.  And not all financial planners are either. But as the missus would explain, "I'm your accountant. your paying me to account for your money. Your financial "advisor" only makes money when he talks you into spending it". And she said "I can't tell you how many times I've told players 'I don't care what your financial advisor told you, you can't do that, it's illegal."

I'm not bagging on Christians, the "Christian Con" is common in the U.S. because Christianity is the dominant religion. I have friends in the Middle East who tell me the same thing about Muslims pushing religiosity as a way for business advantage. They wisely stay away.
