Mazara thinks he's Andrew Jones. Too good to make a routine catch with two hands.

If we had won 3 of the 7 games against these guys we would be within a couple of games of the division lead. Think about that for a minute.

Another DP. At least this one wasn't the first pitch after a walk.

wasn't raining earlier, might be now but i'm not going to look out the window.  what's to comment on the fact that the astros are doing a great job of leaving runners on base again this game?

The leadoof double followed by Carlos the jaackass striking out with all body parts flying in different directions. (yes, I know he stumbled into one early)  Then White singles up the middle advancing Marwin. Could have been a run if Gomez had just moved the runner to third with a ground out to the right side. Then Marisnick grounds into a DP and no fucking runs out of a lead off double. It is hard to play situational baseball with Gomez being involved.

The Gomez strikeout was equally as shitty. Falling down the first baseline on an inside pitch he had no prayer of touching.

Marwin has to know where the shortstop is on that play. He goes on the hit and he scores.

Margwin tries to steal a base with a good jump has to go back and that surprise is gone

Suicide squeeze would have worked ended up being foul.

Good ideas but enough hate from the baseball gods for them not to work.  Makes me wonder what you assholes did to piss off the gods.

Keuchel gets Muggsy Odor out on ground ball to open the Rangers 7th.  Big Tub of Goo Fielder Ks. Rua singles up the middle and advances to second on a pitch blocked by Gattis. Andrus k's for Keuchel's 8th of the evening. End of 7. Bring it home boys.

I hear you. There was a guy the team traded for in the 60's named Dave Nicholson that was a one-dimensional OFer from the AL. He would hit an occasional HR and strikeout the rest of the time. He was a statue in the OF so Gomez at least has that going for him.

The good news is that I'm starting a week of vacation tomorrow, so I don't have to go to the office and hear about this from the resident Rangers fan. He's not a bad guy, and he's not obnoxious about it, but it still gets old.

Anybody got any don't-miss recommendations for downtown Denver? I lived there 45 years ago, but I imagine it's changed a bit. Our daughter is getting married Saturday up near Golden, Sunday we're going to the Rockies-Padres game, and Monday we're spending in Denver proper before returning home on Tuesday.

He was going to use this as *the* turnaround game, the one where Keuchel shows everybody that he's back, the one where they show the Rangers that they're done being doormats. It was a nice plan, except for one flaw.

LH hitters have an ops of 1.389 against Neshek and two of the scheduled batters were lefties.

I just don't know who else to bring in?  Feliz and Giles were used last night.  Gregerson I suppose or Devenski.

Not great options, I just felt Dallas was done after 7.

Signs of a spine? Or do we end it with a signature DP?

Well, at least it won't be the DP. Of course, now Springer -- still on my fantasy roster, remember -- is up.

The Astros will never beat the Rangers.  They  try and I truly believe they try but it seems they will never beat them.

Credit to the Astros for fighting back in the top of the ninth. Given how demoralizing the bottom of the eight must have been, they showed some pride. This will turn eventually. Frankly, if this has to keep up, I want them to meet Rangers in a playoff series and beat Texas like a drum. They strike me as a-holes.

Not a great way to start a series, but both games could've gone either way.

This team is still fun to watch, although I wish they'd get rid of Gomez.

I do believe they have lost 8 straight to the Rangers.

And I also believe the Rangers are assholes.

28-24 against MLB minus stRangers. They have owned us but plenty of close games.

It is hard to root for a team that is its natural rival's bitch.

Maybe "hard" isn't the word. Agonizing.

If Houston had split 4 of the first 8 losses with Texas both teams would have 32 wins but Texas would lead the division by a game due to two fewer losses.
Ifs and buts.....
