That was absolutely classic between Blum and Brown on Gomez
because I moved him into my starting lineup for the week in a fantasy league, and I can't swap him out until next week. So I imagine that we're going to be treated to a week's worth of suck.
The other day I got somewhere where I could check in on the game and I pulled up At Bat and brought up the box score. I knew that Gomez was in the lineup and I specifically wanted to know how many times up to that point he had struck out. As I was looking at his line the screen refreshed and his line changed to one hit, one run, one rbi. I sat there blinking at it in total disbelief.
They just put a graphic up showing the table in group D. They had Paraguay leading. I guess that's the handiwork of the same people that think Uruguay and Chile have the same national anthem.
Blum was rendered speechless and Brown calmly commented that when Gomez cut his swing down and kept his helmet on, it seemed much better.

I had to head back to the hotel from the bar where I was because the bar has DirecTV and the rain froze the transmission completely. Which was a surprise because I had it on authority that rain never impacts DTV signal. Anyway, I'm watching both games now.
Astros starters have had quite a few shitty first innings this year. We'll know how this game will go down in the second. This team can dig out of a 3-0 hole no problem.

I don't get the point of this. We hit him then they turn around and hit our guy, etc, etc. Odor maybe a little prick. The Rangers might have long since eclipsed the Cubs as far as hated teams. But no drilling of Odor is going to change the scoreboard. The Astros need to go out there and beat the hell out of them on the scoreboard. Mercilessly run up the score is perfectly okay. That means stealing a base up by 7, not pulling the starter, etc. Make a statement that they will no longer be the punching bag anymore. I don't see how drilling Odor does this.
I haven't seen a Houston pitcher move an opposing batter off the plate all year - or last year for that matter.
