I acquired Nick Tropeano yesterday, so I could start him today in the Mihoba FBL.

I traded him and Perez to rent the worst catcher in baseball to be my backup.

Hitting a robust .190 with 1 HR. Which is better than Carlos Gomez. Plus he's managed to throw out five baserunners.

The smoker Alkie built sure can cook some damn fine brisket. I cooked two, one "choice" I bought for $1.97 per pound and one "prime" for $4.17 per pound. I can't tell much if any difference. Anymore, I only cook "prime" steaks, but for brisket "prime" not worth the extra money. I used a combination of hard woods at 200 degrees for 12 hours, then the last six hours in the oven wrapped in foil at 175 degrees, they both turned out great. Going to feast today and tomorrow.

Giles is cursed. He makes good pitches and does not get the strike three call or gives up a bloop.

He struck Trout out twice and didn't get the call. A wild pitch that Gattis loses at his feet. Then a duck snort to plate a run.  Cursed indeed.

Two that I know of. Every pickoff or caught stealing doesn't mean crappy base running. Didn't see Valbuena lollygagging. Calhoun made a perfect play the other guys are trying too.

Bad news: Calhoun/Trout/Pujols for the bottom of the 9th.
Good news: If you can work through those guys and score in the top of the 10th, you have a chance.

Long game time wise, already over 3 and a half hours. I love baseball. I know between every pitch I've got 15 to 20 seconds of time to do other shit. Over the course of a game I can get a few things done.

Bad news: Calhoun/Trout/Pujols for the bottom of the 9th.
Good news: If you can work through those guys and score in the top of the 10th, you have a chance.
You made that sound easier than it was.

Ok. There's your terrible situational hitting. Everyone in the ballpark knew White was getting a "get ahead" fastball on the first pitch...except Tyler White.

And if he had swung at it and grounded into a double play, we would have been all over his ass for swinging at the first pitch. We're a hard bunch to please.

If he grounds into a double play swinging at a first pitch meatball, with the winning run at 3B in the 10th, I'd be pissed, but not because he swung at the first pitch.

I vote for Gomez.

Speaking of, 0-3 with a K in today's game at CC. Batting .250 (5 for 20) with 6 K's, 0 W's, 1 HR in his 5 games with the Hooks.

Fuck. Altuve simply does not know how to apply a tag. The throw was there, but Altuve can't do it. It's the one thing st which he's awful.

If they hit him, there'd just be a man on first and second.

Even better, tag that fucker out at second going for a double. Unfortunately, I think that Altuve missed the tag.

Good lord. Wild pitch doesn't really mean anything at this point, but it's emblematic of their problems.

And then Gregerson finishes things off. Nice win.

Good win. Bullpen is carrying the team right now. Road wins are good to see, I'd forgotten what it was like to see a crowd taken out of the game like they were after Correa's HR.

Strange sentiment given how the game unfolded.

I thought the bullpen was excellent last night. Did I watch the wrong game?

Other than the blown save. Which was a bit of bad luck.
