All-Star Game

Why did the NL hit first when  the game  is in a NL park? I'm assuming it is because the AL is the last WS winner.

No. It's because a NL park is hosting the game for the 2nd year in a row (Great American Ball Park last year, Petco this year).

You'll see the NL as visiting team again in 2018 despite being played in Washington because the next two years the game also will be played in NL parks (Marlins Park in 2017, Nationals Park in 2018).

If the game counts, shouldn't they be alternating the home fields b/w AL and NL?
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Thanks.  I was under the impression they rotated on an annual basis between NL/AL.  Maybe those are by-gone days.

Something about the game had to be arbitrary.

Maybe the NL had more new parks than the AL?

I was so glad Harris got out of that mess he came into.

this is exactly it. There will be four straight All-Star games in NL parks.
