In an Australian League game.....  Not sure which is better Wik going through the wall or the Aussie's accent calling the game.
Always ready to go to a game.

He was so nonchalant about it - Going back to the wall and Wik, ughh, crashes through - as if this is something that happens regularly. Maybe it is.

It is not build to last.  It is a temp fence that turns a cricket field (grounds, pitch, what ever the correct term is) into a baseball field.  So it is not as sturdy as one in the states.

The Adelaide Bite?  What a name!

I happen to have close friends who live in Adelaide and have spent an unusual amount of time there considering that there aren't very many foreign tourists who find their way to Adelaide. Which is a shame, because it is a lovely place. For those on the drinky side there are the Barossa Valley and the McLaren Vale, two outSTANding (aMAZing) wine producing regions. Thomas Coopers Brewery is of course based there, as is R. M. Williams. The public market is probably my favorite in the country. And the beaches are lovely, certainly considering that they are urban beaches.

I like to swim at Glenelg, which is a thoroughly enjoyable train ride from the city center. I should say that my friend is a marine biologist. A parasitologist, in fact. (Did I ever mention that I have an animal species named after me? I do - never mind that it is an unpleasantly aggressive parasite - and I am inordinately proud of this.) Anyway, a student of his was attacked by a shark during his safety stop not a hundred yards from the beach at Glenelg. They found his BCD but never his body.

So, yeah, the bite.

Wik goes oppo taco for a grand salami to give the Bite a playoff spot

He is having a good season down under.  Last Astros prospect to do that was Brandon Barnes the year before he was called up. Not saying Wik is = Barnes but he has definitely given his career a bit more life.

Edited for a working url.

MLB Network showed a Perth vs. Adelaide game last Saturday night and Wik was playing second base.  That boy is thick for a second baseman.  I only got to see him hit once and he walked on 4 pitches before it was my bedtime.

Fangraphs has him at 195 lbs, while milb.com has him at 223.  I might believe the 223.

He is solid.  He has played some second in the past.  I think his best path to the bigs is as a utility bench guy.  He can play corner OF, 2nd and has played some CF, 1B & 3B.  Although he has been around since 2012, he just turned 23 in July.  So he is youngish.  Needs to make a statement at AA this year.
