Seriously, folks
« on: October 01, 2015, 06:31:42 pm »
Who among us thought we would be hanging on every pitch the final three games with the playoffs on the line? No matter how this comes out, I have had so much fun. I love this team!

Certainly not me.   For too long my Astros routine involved looking up the score,  seeing a zero,  then pulling up the linescore to see if there was a dent in the hits column.

Meaningful late season baseball is wonderful.

Go Astros!

I thought we'd be trying to get to .500 in these last 3 games. It's been a fun season, not ready for it to end just yet.

This has been a blast! Although I've still had fun the past few years enjoying the small things like Altuve's batting title or following the tremendous turnaround in the Minors, this has been such a great relief to watch so many meaningful games! Like others have said I don't want it to end.

Couldn't agree more, Coach. With the Halos loss tonight The good guys cannot officially be eliminated until the last day of the season. This has been a fun season win, lose, or draw.

Nothing in sports is better than a pennant race and playoff baseball, especially if your team is involved.  Loving every minute of it.  Go Stros.

I was thinking this morning that although they are not in the post season, they are definitely playing playoff games now. The experience of playing win or go home kind of games is extremely valuable regardless of the outcome.

Don't you wish you had taken some of the 22/1 odds for post season play back in March?

I took the over/under on wins at 74.5.  But the playoff would've paid a helluva lot better.

I took them at 85/1 to win the WS and 42/1 to win the pennant. I wish I'd seen the postseason play option.

It's enough to McHugh proud to be an Astros fan!!!
Remember Jesus Alou being called out of the 1st base coaching box to pinch-hit a double vs. the Reds in '79 I think, to win a crucial game, and he patted Morgan on top of the head (ala Benny Hill w/the little bald guy) and Little Joe got pissed.....yeah,that was great.

1 marwin unless you are banking on the orioles beating the yankees twice more

Two more until the Angels lose again.

And, so, I believe that all of the following possibilities still exist for the Astros:

1. Tie for division crown (Rangers lose tomorrow and Astros win both remaining)
2. Host wild card game (Yankees lose both remaining and Astros win both remaining and Rangers win tomorrow)
3. Astros travel to NY for wild card game (Yankees win at least one  game and (Astros win only one game or Angels lose tomorrow))
4. Astros not in playoffs (Astros lose both remaining games and Angels win tomorrow)

That's pretty remarkable.

ETA: I have no idea what would happen if they actually tied with the Rangers.
