Being reported by KHOU
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Former Astros fan from VA, as I posted earlier today on FB:

Sad to hear of the passing of former Astros radio announcer Milo Hamilton. It made me think - in my lifetime, I believe I've spent more hours listening to his voice than any other in sports. From stumbling upon a random Beaumont TX station in the early days of online broadcasts in 1996 (remember RealPlayer?) until upgrading to MLB Extra Innings to watch Astros games in 2004, I listened to him and Alan Ashby call probably 1,000+ games. The sound of him screaming "HOLY TOLEDO, WHAAAAAaaaaAAAAAAaaaaaTTTTTT A PLAY!!!" is tattooed in my brain. Glad to have met him a few times and found him as genuine in person as he seemed on the air.
"Ground ball right side, they're not gonna be able to turn two OR ARE THEY, THROW, IS IN TIME!!! WHAT AN UNBELIEVABLE TURN BY BRUNTLETT AND EVERETT, AND THEY CUT DOWN MABRY TO END THE GAME, AND THE ASTROS LEAD THIS NATIONAL LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES THREE GAMES TO ONE!!!!!"

Why are you a former Astros fan?

His last post was 2011, so my guess is he didn't enjoy riding the pain train as much as we did.

I too found KOGT streaming in the 90's listened to the games over my 28.8 modem pretty much nightly. That was right about the time I found this place. Been living the dream ever since.

I think I liked Milo a lot more than most people did.

Milo stayed about ten years too long. He became a cartoon character who got on my nerves toward the end. He was such a self-promoter.
