Why did they build a baseball stadium in North Texas without a roof?

You can tell this is a big division rivalry.  Just look at that crowd.

Altuve reaches on an IF single to 2b (Odor made a nice play but Altuve beat it by a step)
Altuve goes 1st to 3rd on a weak ground out hit and run by Gomez
Correa pulls his hands in and hits the foul pole for a 2 run dinger.
Tucker smokes one right at SS
Gattis strikes out to end inning
Always ready to go to a game.

which one? Altus moves to third on a groundout, or Correa cranks one?

B1:

Lead off walk to DeShields
Odor singles, DeShields to 3B
Fielder singles, DeShields scores.

Rangers cut the lead to 2-1, nobody out and two on

Wow. McCullers throws one 37 feet over Castro, but it bounced off the wall to 1B. Belter can't score.

Valbuena probably would have gotten it and I don't mean it to sound bad against Lowrie.  McCullers isn't helping the boys.

And HInch is out after they've batted around.

Valbuena with an upper decker!

The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Woof, Fiers has nothing.  This is going to get real ugly.

Shin-Soo Choo Choo struck out looking
Andrus singled to left
Wilson doubled to deep left center, Andrus scored
DeShields walked
Odor tripled to deep right, Wilson and DeShields scored
Fielder singles and Odor scores.

Fiers hasn't even thrown 30 pitches yet.  he shouldn't get pulled until he's tossed at least 70.

You know, I wouldn't mind the ads on MLB.tv if they could DELIVER A DECENT PICTURE!    Seems they don't have enough bandwidth to consistently provide a clear picture.  I get a lot of pauses which result in a degraded picture quality for a while..    I know it's not my internet connection because I have 20MBit down.

Hinch said he wasn't going to pitch next time around in Oakland anyway, so it's not like this move is going to take away a start.

It's interesting to think of the conversations they may have had with McCullers about going down.

Scenario A:  Lance, we're going to need you for the stretch run, and we've got to get you some rest.  That means we may move you up and down a bit to keep the roster stocked.  It has absolutely nothing to do with tonight, we all have our off-nights (except of course for Correa).  We'll see you in 10 days.

Scenario B:  Son, you call that pitching.  That was the worst performance I've seen yet from one of our starters.  Down you go until you get your act together.

Scenario C:  It's got nothing to do with your pitching.  That is the ugliest beard I've ever seen on a grown man.  You shave and we'll think about bringing you back up.

Given they were apparently planning on skipping his next start, there is also a scenario where he was already told he was heading down prior to the game.  They were short a long man in the pen.  It's not like you lose an option with McCullers if you send him down.  Doesn't make sense to keep McCullers on the 25 man if you know you aren't going to use him for 10 days.

I bet it was "C". McCullers was on a MLBnetwork show the other day with a couple of guys interviewing him sorta. It was really a lighthearted interview with one of the hosts a former Red Sox player that lives in Austin. His name escapes me but McCullers is  a very engaging, funny guy and he talked like a ten year veteran. Said the team was very loose and got along well together.

Man that bites for McCullers.  Such a great season and have to go down after that start.

They're using a six man rotation with five slots to pitch in.  Keuchel, Kazmir and McHugh all go on regular rest, with the other two slots filled by McCullers/Fiers/Feldman/Straily/Oberholtzer/whomever they need to fill in.

I can honestly say I've never felt that way about a pizza.

The move to send McCullers down most certainly has nothing to do with this, but it does have other club benefits, helping to reduce super 2 possibilities

I'm sure it was a combination of A and C.  Or at least it should have been.

Hinch said last night on the post-game that they've already mapped out who's pitching when in August, and that McCullers was not going to pitch for the next 10 days anyway as a way to limit his innings and starts (rather than simply shutting him down, I suppose).  This may have been a result even if he'd thrown a shutout last night.  It's just bad luck that it comes on the heels of a terrible performance.  He didn't mention the beard.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

No. But that was quite a display rack for the message.
