Yeah, that ain't Collin the Goodhearted out there tonight...it's Lance the Bastard.  He might find one in his ear for that...or even just for the hell of it.

And Murphy in Cleveland and Victorino in Boston.  It's like the Angels just looked around the league and said "who fucks with the Astros...let's get him".

I don't remember a catcher more brutal with the glove.  He makes Gregg Zaun look like Johnny Bench.

Well, that's a screw job: Correa hit that ball really hard and winds up with a GIDP on what should have been a single. Maybe Richards' calf will stiffen up.

Valbuena leads off with a double off the LF wall
Valbuena to 3B on a wild pitch
Rasmus sac fly F7...Valbuena scores to tie the game
Conger with a single to RF
Singleton pops up F6
Marisnick...fouls a pitch off his nuts...then doubles down the LF line...Conger to 3B
Altuve with a  slow roller to 3B...infield single, Conger scores, Marisnick to 3B
Altuve takes off for 2B...but stops just short of the bag...he's now caught in a pickle...Marisnick has no choice but to try to score...but it's 2-6-2-5 caught stealing on Marisnick.  Not sure I understood that...Altuve had the bag.

2-1 Astros

Doesn't make sense to me. I can understand a straight steal for Altuve, since that gives Tucker two ducks. But double-steal is just a bit too cute.

Agreed.  If you're gonna go on the first pitch, it's to try to outright take a bag to get another RISP.  The stopping didn't make sense, especially since the throw was terrible and he had the base easily.

Singleton!!!

Geez that was a cement mixer if there ever was one.

Twitter says Hamels to Rangers is almost done.

I hope Hamels enjoys pitching in 103 degree heat for a losing team that is already paying more attention to the Cowboys arriving in training camp than to the MLB season.

... Which is exactly what you want to do when you're trailing two teams by 9 games and have a lineup full of holes.

Daniels fully concedes that this deal is for the future. He thinks Hamels coupled with the returning Darvish will put the Rangers back in contention mode. He could be right of course but I think they still have alot of other holes with catcher (Alfaro) being one.
I think this deal makes the Kazmir deal look even better and good for Luhnow for getting out there early and getting it done before the price went up more.

He just pulled off of it a little...but got a good pitch and was able to lift it enough for the sac fly

T9:

Gregerson on the hill in a non-save situation

Pujols homers to LF...stands and admires his prodigious 350 drive while trailing by five runs
Murphy with an infield single as the shift fucks the Astros for the 1,276,465th time this season
Aybar with a bunt single..Murphy to 2B
Cron goes down on strikes
Gillaspie hits a perfect double play comebacker to Gregerson, who promptly drops it...he goes to 2B to get Aybar, but no chance at two...Murphy to 3B
Giavotella singles to CF...Murphy scores, Gillaspie to 2B
Perez, who represents the tying run...flies out F7...

And the Astros get the win 6-3...take the lead in the division.
