Listening to Hinch, sounds like you are correct. He seemed pissed, apologizing left and right about how that's not the Astros way, that Obie threw at Arod. I suppose it could be that the pen is overworked and they just need a new arm, but I get the impression they are sending a message to Obie.
Oberholtzer lost control of his emotions, then showed his ass by staring down the HP ump. The ump compounded the issue by showing his ass back when he removed his facemask and stared back at Obie. Then Obie forgot where he was and what he was suppose to be doing, got totally caught up in the moment, and lost his mind.
At the time I didn't think he needed to be run, but in hindsight, the ump probably did the Astros a favor, because at that moment Oberholtzer was in no shape mentally to continue. Some guys get pissed off and they gain focus, others get pissed off and they become scatterbrained. I like Obie and think he can be a good pitcher but he needs to learn how to control his emotions, that's been his biggest deterrent and will continue to be until he figures it out. Maybe he can figure that out in Fresno.
