Root sucking up to the Yankee fans with a puff piece in the pregame. Really fucking annoying.

If Warren fields Rasmus's grounder, he probably gets two. Now Tucker with an RBI double, goes to 3B on the throw home!

He was traded for Cole Hamels. The Phillies figured they needed some competition at 1B.

This team does a number of things reasonably well but I don't know that I can include base running on that list.

Rasmus with a sac fly to make it 2-0. Valbuena out on the play to end the inning. But at least they didn't waste that lead off double.

No, he had to make sure that run scores. I got no problem with that.

Yes. Not sure what he was thinking there. But generally, reaching a base gives you a much better chance of being safe than hovering 8 feet away from a base.

I realize that he was trying to draw the throw but it was comically unnecessary. Altuve had scored already and Valbuena had the bag easily. He gave them an out for no reason.

Yep, no way Beltran gets Altuve on a ball that deep.

Valbuena has to draw that throw. He can't let it go to the plate. Once he sees its cut, he has to make sure the run scores. I realize Texeira didn't throw to 2B right away, but Valbuena is making sure Altuve scores. The only way to fuck that up is to get thrown out before Altuve hits the plate.  He HAS to make sure.

Altuve's wheels seem to be fine. Infield single, stolen base, moves to 3B on the TE2.

He does, and I love that most of his responses seemed genuine. It's depressing to see a low-minors or newly-drafted kid who can only give the same stock, cliche answers that the majority of big leaguers have been trained to give, without giving any insights or specifics.

Great, an advertisement for a law firm.

It's a great international law firm, a great Texas law firm with offices all over the world.

Interesting: the Rockets picked Dekker, the Wisconsin forward. Intriguing, even.
Was he their top guy?  I just remember a bunch of tall white guys out on the perimeter who could also drive.

Kaminsky was their top guy, but Dekker is good. Decent outside shooter, tough inside. I don't know if he'll really be able to cut it in the NBA, but I think the Rockets are as good a fit for him as anybody. He can run, and he's good in the transition game.

Keuchel at 99 pitches. I assume he'll be back out for the 9th.

Double for Altuve, 3 hits tonight. I hope he's about to go on one of his tears.

It would have been funny to protest the play at the plate, win the protest, and then be called out on the appeal at third.
