I knew there was something about Bettis that rang a bell, other than being a Red Raider.  Thanks to the search function here, it appears that the Astros drafted him in the 8th round in 2007 out of high school, but failed to sign him.  That was part of that god awful draft that yielded zilch.  Absolutely nothing, not even a scrub for a cup of coffee as they didn't sign Dietrich.

http://www.baseball-reference.com/draft/index.cgi?team_ID=HOU&year_ID=2007&draft_type=junreg&query_type=franch_year

Makes me so happy to see the current state of acquiring and developing talent.

That's the way to start out a ballgame!  Three straight singles.

And a three run homer.

Who's Rasmus's hair stylist? He must go to the same guy Bagwell went to.

Springer is 2 for 2 on the night.  He seems to be doing better of late.

He does seem to be falling down less when he has swung of late.

And now Correa is 2 for 2.

We should write him in for the All-Star game.

Keuchel continues to amaze me. He can throw everything in there. Comes in with a hard slider on Arenado at 87 with a tight small break, then follows it with a slurvy big breaker at 81. Hitting him must be a fucking chore.

It is. Poor girl can't just tell him to go away on the air.

Meanwhile, Neshak continues his sterling performance, tearing through the heart of the Rockies lineup.

Great job by Gregerson to pick up Carter there. Astros hold the Rockies off. Springer with a MVP type game.

The only particularly surprising thing is that Springer didn't make that diving circus catch going to his right. He is an unrepentant psychopath in the outfield.

If he and Correa approach their respective ceilings at about the same time they could be the bookends of a seriously fucked up lineup.

Might have been a side effect of not having played next to Rasmus that often. He appeared to hesitate a bit, likely unsure if Colby was going for it. Whereas Springer and Marisnick seem to have each other pretty figured out already.
