@astros: #Astros officially select SS Carlos Correa to the Major League roster. He will join the club tomorrow in Chicago.

Any word on who he replaces?  Gotta make room on both the 40-man and active rosters.

@astros: To make room for Correa on the active roster, the club has optioned RHP Jake Buchanan to Triple A Fresno.

What about the 40-man?

@EvanDrellich: Astros haven’t announced the corresponding 40-man move for Carlos Correa, who has been promoted to the big leagues. @OrtizKicks has more

Thanks.  One of these days I'll figure out what this Twitter thing is.

I see he hits a game winning sac fly on what I hope is his last AAA AB.

Tomorrow is a helluva day for the future: draft and Correa

@brianmctaggart: Luhnow said the decision to call up Correa had nothing to with Villar.

Fire at will.

Damn, this Villar scapegoating has gotten way out of hand.  Other players make mistakes, fans look the other way; Villar has the misfortune of a guy tripping him with his ass while he is looking skyward and everyone wants his head.

I liked Luhnow's comment that Correa is simply one of the 25 best players in the org and thus should be on the major league roster.

You guys are all falling for this diversion like the complete suckers Luhnow clearly thinks you are. This is obviously timed so that it'll distract everyone from all the terrible decisions the Astros are planning to make on Draft Day.

I think Luhnow is looking to give the club a lift when they need it. He's hoping CC energizes the club a bit. Nothing to do with Villar.

Around here we light cnadles.

I imagine that tomorrow the team will draft a guy they know they can't sign in order to be able to use the #2 pick next year. Actually, that would be a perfectly rational thing to do in certain respects.

I haven't seen a game in several days so I know nothing of Villar's various escapades over that time but I do know he has no business on a big league roster.

I love major league debuts. It doesn't matter who it is or who they play for. Tomorrow's game will be a lot of fun.

No, the real diversion is that Correa won't notice that the club is drafting its future shortstop at #2, he'll be too busy settling into the big-leagues. Sucker.

It scares me when you posts something I would.  From the cnadles to the debut.  (I also haven't seen any games this weekend.)

Is it a foregone conclusion that Villar is the odd man out?   Correa didn't come up here to platoon and does not need a defensive replacement.  Villar has more speed, better bat, and can play more positions (albeit not necessarily better) than Marwin

If not Villar, Marwin. Don't need them both now.

This. And VV, too. I love this reaction to the first 4 game losing streak of the year (if that is indeed at least partially what it is).
