I looked at that lineup, saw Tucker was missing, then went up and down it looking for a left fielder 3 times.

Yeah, that's an odd one. What it boils down to is Hinch is choosing Valbuena's LH bat over Tucker's and Rasmus'. Or there's health concerns we don't know about.

Valbuena had an 0fer when these guys last met, Tucker went 2-4. Isn't Rasmus sick or something?

Orioles run in the first was manufactured.  Machado beat out an infield single to short. After 2 outs, took off to second just before Keuchel started his motion.  And then scored on an opposite field flare by Davis.  Keuchel struck out everybody else that inning.  has 5 ks through 2

Came out to the my plate and argued balls and strikes. He's right about one thing ..strike zone is enormous.

Astros with 5 strikeouts through two innings, four of them looking.

Arguing balls and strikes.
If Gameday is correct, Brian Gorman has been rough behind the plate so far.  Davis should have been rung up before driving Machado and Pearce got K'd on a couple of pitches pretty far outside the zone.

And that boys and girls is why you hit the cutoff man. Sac fly by Valbueno scores Gattis who had stopped and headed back to third base until he saw the throw into the O's dugout.

2-1 Astros

Carter and Valbuena fail to put it in play and a promising inning goes thud through the heart of the order.

Still 2-2.

Gattis walks, Carter Ks.  Britton coming in for a 5 out save chance.

Valbuena doesn't even try when facing a lefty.

Wow that went bad.  Valbuean Ks, Villar Ks and Hinch wastes Tucker as a pinch runner.

Not gonna PH with Tucker at this point. That's a ton of strikes with RISP though.

Correct, not likely with a lefty on the mound

Qualls should no longer be trusted in high leverage innings. His stuff has flattened out.

Still in a bad mood because of this game. This was the same pitching match-up on Memorial Day and we lost by one as well.

Exactly.  Not sure how you can blame Qualls for the loss.  Twice the Astros had a runner at 3B and no outs, and neither time could they put a ball in play to drive him home.

Frustrating loss, but shit happens.  They took 3 of 4 in the series.  Go get 'em tomorrow.

What annoyed me more was losing 2/3 at home to the ChiSox and Sale did not pitch.

Losing to the non-Sale White Sox leads directly to the Rangers winning the division. Astros need to kick their ass next week and the Blue Jays in between.
