The Astros are doing there own Mt. Rushmore it appears, and have started voting for the Franchise four.

You are urged to "VOTE FOR THE TOP FOUR PLAYERS IN HOUSTON ASTROS FRANCHISE HISTORY." The candidates are Bagwell, Berkman, Biggio, Cruz, Richard, Ryan, Scott and Wynn.

You can also write in anybody.

Bagwell, Biggio, Cruz, Correa

I have allowed my excitement over Correa to bubble  well beyond any rational expectation I have ever had for a prospect.  It's a doomed attitude and an unfair and unreasonable standard, but holy shit he just seems fucking awesome.

Biggio.

That's it.  When they get three more HOFers, they can add them.

There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

When you look at the candidates for the other teams, there are some odd exclusions.  For instance, Barry Bonds is rightfully listed on the Pirates and Giants, as Palmeiro is listed on the O's and Rangers.  But A-Rod isn't on the Mariners or Rangers and McGwire isn't on the A's or Cardinals' list.  Boggs and Manny aren't on the Red Sox list either.

I can understand McGwire, as both teams he played for are loaded with Hall of Famers.  But ARod is behind Jay Buhner on the Mariners and behind Josh Hamilton on the Rangers.  Ouch.

And I'm shocked that Curt Schilling hasn't whined and weaseled his way onto the ballot.

ETA:  Holy Schit...Schilling has weaseled his way on, as a D-back.  He's now in Ryan Zimmerman and Ben Zobrist territory.

For me including Cheo is a fairly easy decision. The fourth isn't so easy. I go back and forth between Cedeño and Niekro and Cedeño usually wins.
