I thought he looked a little tentative on the mound. Fastball between 93 and 95, a little wild, not too many swings and misses on it, got strikeouts on a couple nasty sliders. Maybe squeezed a bit by the ump. F.P. Santangelo seemed impressed.

MLB network highlighted Appel outing and showed some pretty good pitches he made today. He got in on the hands a few times, changed speeds well and Billy Ripken said that with better control he will get a lot of guys out.
