To me the Leyritz homer off Wagner in '98 was worse than Pujols off Lidge in '05.
The Astros were still the
60% favorites to win the game after the Leyritz home run. Not so after the Pujols bomb, when they went from 93% winners to 19%, making the Pujols home run the largest single game impact play in Astros postseason history.
My worst moments are the Kevin Brown game (so I guess after Carl Everett's flyout to end the game), as that was Houston's best chance to win the World Series, and the Pujols home run.
Yes, they won 2 days later in St. Louis, but the 33 minutes of euphoria after the 7th inning Berkman 3-run homer and the Pujols homer, juxtaposed against the silence afterwards just sucked. Would have been nice to win it at home, a la the Rockets, especially since I was there.
Best moment was Jeff Kent. The most I've ever felt MMP was like Yankee Stadium. Fans throwing beers in the air in jubilation ... just crazy. And it was to win a game, so you could let completely loose.
