all Christmas all the time
« on: November 08, 2018, 08:50:38 am »
I remember a childhood where the tree was chopped down and put up a week or so before Christmas, there was excitement in the air when a store was open on Sunday afternoon before Christmas.  Parades were often followed by the stores actually being open at night.   Before Halloween was over Christmas commercials began to creep in and now the election is over  it seems to be all Christmas all the time. ( do not forget the pre black Friday sales)  It kinda seems to take away from the meaning and the enjoyment.   Ok yes I confess my youngest daughter  will go out the day before or one just after and purchase and put up her tree.
forever is composed entirely of nows

Fredia's early christmas rant is one of my favorite autumnal traditions.
"Holy shit, Mozart. Get me off this fucking thing."
