Austin restaurants

Any recommendations for a nice dinner in Austin tomorrow night? Semi-fancy? No sushi. Staying in the downtown area.

Jeffrey's, though it might be considered fancy.

Fonda San Miguel is always great.

ETA it's not downtown.

La Traviata (Italian), Moonshine Patio Bar and Grill (Comfort), Manuel's (Mexican), and also the Clay Pit (Indian) are some of my go-to downtown restaurants. All nice, not too fancy or too loud.

I had a very nice dinner at Quattro Gatti on N. Congress and 9th a couple of years ago.

Second on La Traviata and Fonda (not downtown, but not far away). I really like Wink, but you need a reservation. It's Austin fancy, which means a nice shirt and flip flops

ETA: Not "need" like they look down their nose at you but "need" in that it's small and you won't be sat for a long, long time without one.
Let me explain something to you. Um, I am not "Mr. Lebowski". You're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.

Vespaio on South Congress is very nice (and not too fancy).  Second Bar & Kitchen is good (but crowded).

That's at least 3 decades in restaurant years.

Lenoir beats them all.

I haven't eaten at Lenoir, but a colleague whose opinion I trust really likes it. There are also several recommendations for Salty Sow in our office. It's on Manor Road over near Disch-Falk.

Salty Sow is pretty good, but hardly exceptional. I think Lenoir is exceptional, and a fantastic value as well.

That place looks great. Will have to try it.

The lady and I are fond of Hightower, over on East 6th or 7th.
