My dad had emailed me the same link but I hadn't read it yet. Thanks for posting. It's nice that a writer still cared enough to mark the occasion and reminisce a little. I wonder if Bagwell and Biggio still keep in touch with his family.

Cammy might have booted the occasional routine grounder and sailed the occasional throw, but he was easily the most consistently spectacular third basemen I ever saw.  He made plays that no one else would even consider trying.

Thanks for posting that story. I feel really lucky that I'm still alive in light of my addiction problems. Sometimes, I wonder why them and not me? I've never found a satisfactory answer for that other than it wasn't my time.

They had Cammy's remains transferred to Biggio's ranch a few years after he died.  I assume Biggio still has some contact with the family.

The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.
