That seems early.  I think a trip to Seattle in June would be kind of fun.

I'm sure it'd be just like the Cowboy's game yesterday, only with stands full of orange instead of red.

All of a sudden you think the Astros will have bandwagon fans?

Absolutely.  It's a game against Seattle.  I'm sure that Yoplait Greek Yoghurt park will be full of Astros fans.

What the heck is up with those home and away 4 game series?  Who thought those would be a good idea?

June 15-18 against the Rockies

Actually for next year, Arizona is the "natural rival" since the Astros play six games against them, three home and three away. MLB doing this with Yankees-Mets, Cubs-White Sox, Dodgers-Angels, etc.

Astros also play four against the Giants, split into two two-game series at different times of the year.

Did that in 2013, my wife and I met chuck out for drinks too.  It is a great escape from the Houston heat, was sunny with highs in low 70s in June up there.   I really enjoyed visiting Seattle.

I am thinking next year I might go to the Toronto series.

I'm going to be in Seattle next week. Ironically when the Astros are playing Seattle but in H-town.
Anything cool I should do there? I know about the Pikes Market and Pioneer Square. We're going to the San Juan Islands for a couple of days too.

You know, last night during the game I think they showed a shot of the place across the street we went to after the game.

Toronto is a great place, too, and I highly recommend it for a baseball game or anything else.

Strangely enough my Marea Roja plays in Houston tomorrow. We played in the Cotton Bowl Sunday. We had a two goal lead against the Ticos and in spectacular fashion gave them two goals (while cheerfully missing a penalty...) and seizing a draw from the clutches of victory. Sound familiar? Yeah, we did exactly the same thing at home against the Ticos in the hex. So I'm not really regretting not being able to make the games. I've seen this film before and know how it ends. Plus, Seattle is a more appealing travel destination than Dallas.

You soccer-interested goons in necktown should go to the games tomorrow. It will be a lot of fun and I'm sure I'll feel pangs of regret watching the game on tv. Shortly followed by waves of fury as my team allows Nicaragua a 90th minute goal that fucks our goal advantage over the Ticos.

See? I'm assuming we're going to win, it's just a question of by how much. You'd think I'd know better.

Anything cool I should do there? I know about the Pikes Market and Pioneer Square. We're going to the San Juan Islands for a couple of days too.

For a quick trip we enjoyed riding the ferry over to Bainbridge Island.  Only about a 25 minute ride, once you get dropped off you can walk to several restaurants and shops, we ate at a place at the marina, really good fish and chips and a solid selection of beers.  Great view. http://harbourpub.com/

The ride back on the ferry provides a fantastic view of the Skyline and Mt Rainier.  Speaking of, if you can get a window seat on the left side of the aircraft on the way up, you will get a really fantastic view of the Rainier, weather permitting.  Same goes for the flight home, left side window.

We stayed at the Arctic Club, which is a historic building that is now run by Doubletree by Hilton.  I loved it, one of the better hotel bars, especially considering it is a Doubletree.  http://thearcticclubseattle.com/dining-libations/polar-bar/

We did the Market, it is worth going by to say you have been.  I ate at Cutter's a few weeks ago when I was there for work, it was good, and has a great view of the water.  A coworker raved about this place, http://thepinkdoor.net/ but it was a 1.5 hour wait when we went by so we passed.  There is an Irish pub right next too it, that I have been to several times now that I enjoyed too.

If you go to a game, I would suggest the Pyramid Brewery across the street from Safeco for pregame.  They inexplicably close at 10PM, even on game nights so you can't go post game, that is why chuck and I ended up at the hotel bar that is next to the stadium.

We also went to the EMP museum next to the Space Needle and enjoyed it.

I loved crab up there, but their oysters are awful, I much prefer gulf coast oysters.

My brother and I went to Elliot's (which in general was just ok) and I had an awesome oyster sampler. I love Gulf oysters like any reasonable person but I love cold water oysters too.

When we were there two years ago we had the best salmon (her) and halibut (me) we could recall. That was at a Tom Douglas restaurant...he has several different concepts around town. Also really enjoyed this place that is run by Mario Batali's dad. http://www.salumicuredmeats.com/
