Through 6...Cosart looking very good. Unfortunately the bats are the usual suck. 0-0, top of the 7th.

I really don't like Ash.  He really don't seem to know what he is talking about.

Good job Jared.  Hopefully, Kraus gets you a run.

Kinsler grounds into double play, but Tigers get an unearned run on Krauss's Little League error. T8: 1-0 Tigers.

I'm sitting on my couch and knew that was the pitchout sign. Kosart didn't want to throw it 0-2. That Ashby didn't know what it was is embarrassing.

I think he wants to do color and not PBP.  He's not good at either.

I'll admit I didn't know it was the pitchout sign, but I'm not paid to know.

He's terrible at both.

Krauss draws a lead off walk. Marwin in to run for him.

Dominguez flies out, and Villar with a seeing eye single up the middle, but Marwin stops at 2b. Damn. Needed to get to 3b with one out.

Altuve strikes out and Marwin is thrown out at 3b standing up. In fact, he was tagged out in front of the SS. One rally: dead.

Full count, 1 out... I'm ok starting the runners. Altuve has to make contact. You won't get many more chances, you've already put yourself in the hole with your dick stepping. Gotta try to make something happen. I'm much more pissed that Marwin didn't try for 3b on Villar's hit.

I just expected more from a pinch runner.  he did as much as Kraus could have.

Bass in for Cosart.

Cosart with 4 hits in 7 innings, and 1 unearned run. He's on the hook.

I assume this is rhetorical. But on the chance that it isn't, how about "Ashby button"? Or just "Ashbutton"?

Fowler thrown out at 2b, though it should have been safe as the fielder had the ball in his hand, not his glove.

Carter pops out, that'll do.

2-0 Tigers. Lots of dick stomping tonight.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

I have to pile on the Ash-can. He's unlistenable. I liked him better when he was a red-assed companion to Milo and enjoying the chance to do PBP.

Ashby flat-out sucks. Even my wife, who watches Astros games mainly to humor me, often groans and exclaims "Why don't they fire Ashby and make Blum the full-time color guy?!? Can't they see how bad he is?"

Doubtful, they probably don't have Comcast.

Nice

Blum is tons better, Sparks would also be a good choice, IMO.

Definitely. I really enjoy Sparks and Ford on the radio. I wouldn't mind it if they became the TV duo either.

And while were at it, it seems Ash has made Brownie not as enjoyable to me. He's more hyper-ish than the low-key delivery he had with JD.

Losing JD trails the AL move by only a fraction in the "rip my heart out of my chest" sweepstakes.

I assumed it goes without saying that my top preference would be for the Astros to somehow bring JD back. Failing that, shitcanning Ashby for Blum or Sparks would be decent Plan B options.

But yeah, there's zero chemistry between Brownie and Ashby.

I haven't heard Ashby since he came back but I didn't enjoy him the first go-round. He always seemed stiff. I don't think he has chemistry to share.

He's not as bad as DoRay. But he's still crap.

Yes, he is as bad.  Ash isn't prepared to talk about anything.  I honestly do not think he researches any of the other teams, much less the Astros.  I think all he cares about is the Julia chick.  While it may be cute teasing her about her shoes, sometimes it seems a bit creepy.

While I am probably one of the few that watch the games, he has truly made me want to change the channel.  I usually last until the good guys do it, but he brings less to the games than the players.

Does he make you yearn for the days of Worrell?
