Luckily, it was Reddick with the bases loaded, who's more of a free swinger and certainly not as disciplined as his teammates.

That was a big league play by Dominguez. They came within a whisper of a twin killing on that play. Unfuckingbelievable.

McHugh gets them again in order. 1-0 Bottom 6 McHugh at 83 tosses through six. He's gotten stronger. It'll be interesting to see how far they let him go today. He was removed at 89 pitches last time out because his previous season high pitch count was 73.

I thought he was bothered by the Astros not holding the runner on first, thereby giving him second, which allowed him to score on the single.

I had to do it before somebody else did.  My pitching staff is strong enough right now to take the pressure off the kid, and I was worried he'd be picked up by somebody who'd overuse him.

Really, it was for the best.

I actually almost beat you to him. He was available, but I checked his previous record and opted for A.J. Burnett.

That's why I didn't take him last night.

Funny thing is, if I'm calculating it right, his next start (assuming he has one), should be next Friday when the Fish Tossers are supposed to bring Iwakuma off of the DL.  i could end up with both starting pitchers, both of whom are . . . uncertain?  Here's hoping for the greatest pitchers duel ever.
