Great find. Thanks for sharing. I'm glad to see EC is so excited about the program, particularly the pitching which is the key to these whole thing IMO...depth of pitching. That can be marketed for shortcomings elsewhere.  That first part about the conversation with the great Hun was shocking to me. How could a ML GM know so little, or have such differing scouting opinions, about his MiL program? 2004 was Huns's last year. I wonder if this revelation was a part of the reason for that.

Thanks for posting. Great stuff.

I am old enough to remember Enos when he played third.  Not an allstar, but a smart player who is now seemingly more valuable as an advisor.  I can't help but wonder if he would make a good coach-seems though he loves what he is doing right now.

It would not be a bad idea to read this again frequently  this year to remember that help will soon be coming.

Wow. I love Enos Cabell now even more than I did before. I thought that he was a very solid big leaguer. But he's a great player evaluator who is honest. That's refreshing.

He seems to be saying that the crash of the farm system goes back to Hunsicker.

Really good article.  I like the fact that Jeff listens to a bunch of different opinions

Quote
"Sometimes my judgement is different than Sig [Mejdal, Director of Decision Science] or some of the other guys or Quinton [McCracken, Director of Player Development], [but Luhnow] needs to take that and chew it all up and then he makes the decision. I think everybody respects that."
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

That was outstanding.   I was happy to see he singled out Josh Hader.  I got to see him pitch a couple times last year and I was impressed with his mound presence and his ability to throw strikes.   He's not someone that you hear much about but if you want a sleeper in the arms race, there are worse horses to hitch your wagon to.

It's refreshing to see Houston have some LHers in the organization that have some 90+ stuff and not just the stereotypical LHer that "knows how to pitch". And maybe Rodon on the way.

I thought this was common knowledge.
You may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"
