UT @ WVU
« on: November 09, 2013, 06:32:16 pm »
Looks like UT has been grooming the new special teams coach for the Texans.
I remember all the good times me 'n Miller enjoyed
Up and down the M1 in some luminous yo-yo toy
But the future has to change - and to change I've got to destroy
Oh look out Lennon here I come - land ahoy-hoy-hoy

I walked my fat ass to Rosslyn, VA to meet up with the DC chapter of Texas-Exes for the game, only to discover they all bused to WVA for the game.
Either way, really, really ugly game.
Don't think twice, it's alright.

Case just isn't very good.  He's trying his hardest, and doing the best with what he has, but he's just not very good.
I haven't been keeping up - is Ash done?

Just for the record, you are about a 20 minute walk from my house.

From a distance these West Virginia helmets look like the Bass Pro Shops logo. That can't be total coincidence.

Southish of Clarendon.

That whole area freaks me out now by how much it's changed, basically Wilson Blvd from Rosslyn to Glebe Rd is unrecognizable to me now. As is 70% of DC east of 16th Street NW.

I thought I smelled something faint but unpleasant.

I might head back there next Saturday, and I'd love to meet up if possible.

Just a word if caution...subnuclear is  really smart, you're likely to leave there broke and needing a shower.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Congratulations to UT for taking care of business on the road. My Tigers did about what I expected. I see our program regressing a bit. Les Miles may find himself on the hotseat if we look bad against Texas A&M at home for our fourth loss. Did anyone see the rushing statistics in the Florida/Vanderbilt game? Florida ran the ball 34 times for a paltry 39 yards. Muschamp finds himself on the hotseat already there. They won't stand for a losing record in Gainesville.

Sounds good. I usually take a bath on Saturdays whether I need it or not.

There is a train that goes over there. It's hard to find because they keep it underground.

I agree Coach.

It's gonna hurt losing Whaley and Grey though.  I'm excited about the 'Pokes coming to town on Saturday.  I love 2:30 kick offs.

Thought it was a very entertaining game.  McCoy isn't Johnny U. but he seems to get going more and more as a game progresses.    I think some credit goes to the players and coaches at Texas for not quitting on the season when a lesser group would have--some leadership is going on somewhere.

The players and coaches should get all of the credit. Your fans had given up, but they didn't. Hats off to the staff and to those young men.

I have said my last negative thing about Case. he drives me nuts at times, and terrible throws are part of his games, but he has whatever "IT" is that makes one a winner. In addition, it seems clear that the entire team believes in him. Johnny U. could not have thrown that corner route to Shipley any better.

That was a really fine second half of QB play...not that the first half was awful in any way, but Case made some plays in the second half.  Not game-managing, but making plays.  The throw you reference was OUTSTANDING.

Same here.  Thought we were cooked when Ash went down.  Case may be a lot of things but he is greater than the sum of his parts.

Yeah, I took it to Arlington and walked around the cemetary for 3-4 hours.  Then I walked to the bar, whereupon five beers quickly undid any healthy benefits of the previous three or four hours.
Don't think twice, it's alright.

He throws the deep routes very well, too. Had another one Saturday. That surprises me as much as anything about him.Good for him....glad he's getting his shot.

I wouldn't say he throws them "very well." He has thrown some outstanding balls (two against OU, which probably leads to the "he throws the deep ball well" comments), but he misses them about as often.

McCoy's biggest issue, IMO, is that he consistently throws off his back foot, even without pressure, and it accentuates his arm strength and accuracy.

I think he lacks the kind of talent one would expect from the QB of a top D1 program, and makes a lot of poor decisions. But... I admire his toughness, his effort and his attitude. He seems to command the respect of his teammates, and he gets every last ounce of production out of his physical abilities. I, too, am done nitpicking and criticizing every little thing. hats off to him, and let's hope the Horns can keep it going for three more weeks.

I am in the same boat.  Case has been an asset.
