No. He has been hitting 93-94 with his fastball on the corners. He has a 2seamer that has been tailing away from lefties. He froze one of their hitters with a 12-6 hook, and he has had an effective slider.

That's my guess. He has only struck out 2 but they were back to back in the 5th on a 12-6 hook on the first guy and a 93 MPH fastball on the other.

He is in the mid 70s in pitches through 6. He has been very effective.

But he has gotten away with a few pitches that a veteran hitter would have probably made him pay for. But overall he has pitched a good game.

I agree. Admittedly, he doesn't have much down there on which he can rely. But his bully choices for the past few weeks have been somewhat odd. There must be an explanation like someone not being available or they are watching innings/pitches on someone.

I agree. Fields, I think, is gonna be good but he's not ready yet. The only reason he's up right now is because he's a Rule 5 guy. The forearm injury might have helped more than it hurt.

I don't think that I could add any better insight than you did. I liked the pitch calling. I gave him a B for hitting his spots (he got away with a couple, but that is normal), and I saw two or three (sometimes--that third pitch is still a work in progress) effective pitches. I gave him an overall B for the outing, which I felt was pretty good, especially given how far he went into it compared with the length of his prior outings.
