I'm starting to believe he may be a piece of the puzzle. A guy that can be a part of a winning team. Thoughts?

Hoes is doing well, too. I would think that, ideally, you would want more power in your corner OF spots and maybe one of these guys, at most, would be a part of it. Having Springer in CF may allow for one corner OFer to be a top of the order guy.

When it comes to rookies I just keep Pence in mind.

Pence is a pretty high bar to set for rookies in general.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Point was his rookie year was a lot better than any other year he had.

I would be thrilled to have two legit top of the order guys; I don't care if they play corner OF, especially if they play it well. If your 1B, DH, CF, and C can bat 3-6 in some order, then it can absolutely work to have corner OFs hit 1-2.

This team's entire season next year will pretty much depend on "ifs", but IF certain guys perform well next year then a lineup of

Grossman
Hoes
Castro
Carter
Springer
Altuve
Singleton
Dominguez
Villar

has the potential to actually not be all that terrible.

Castro is too high and Singleton too low. Springer is a #3 hitter.

Springer could be a terror at #3.

I was just thinking to not throw them straight into the fire at least to start their rookie seasons. I imagine Springer and Singleton will eventually bat 3-4.

Amador can hit #4, #5 and #6.
And if he's still feeling hungry he might get the #7 combo too.
You may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"

Gravity could make us the first team to shift to the right for right-handed hitters.

I like the lineup, but there is something to be said about "Hoes before GROSSman"

I would give Martinez another shot before installing Grossman in left field.

I'm not sure why you guys are excluding Wallace.

Exactly.  I see Wallace and Singleton going head to head for the Opening Day 1B job, with the loser getting a slice of the DH gig.

I guess you could say they've got options. Singleton may need more AAA time next year, and Wallace or JD may fix the holes in their offense, although personally I'm not holding my breath on either.

My main point was that this team can conceivably be productive even if both corner OFs are table-setters, rather than power guys, next year, because they're likely to get power from 1B, DH, C, CF, and 3B.

Wallace and Carter may make an ideal platoon. Wallace at home and Carter on the road.

Wallace is good against RHPs and absymally against LHPs. Has this been discussed somewhere? He was more balanced last year.
