SnS Fantasy Football 2013
« on: July 29, 2013, 09:01:31 am »
I just renewed the league.  Entry fee is $30 like last year, and for now the draft is scheduled for wednesday August 21st at 8:30 central.  Let me know if you are returning, or if you are new and would like to play.  I know of at least one available team.  Also, draft time feedback is appreciated.

I can't wait to see what kind of fucked up and stupid roster my GM puts together this year. If he drafts like he did last year I'm going to have to fire that idiot.

that's fine.  i'd say it will be unlikely we have more than enough, considering waldo left, and jane is gone from the board.

How can a fantasy football league on a baseball site not be your top priority?

It got moved to next week. But as far as I can tell we're at seven teams, which seems a bit light.

I'm pretty sure I got an email about it. But if you go to the league's page, it will tell you. The draft is scheduled for Thursday the 29th at 8:30 CDT.

try it now.  i'm in the draft room.  as for moving the draft and having it fit with a texans game, unfortunately a lot of people bailed and I had to give us more time to see if we would even have the league.  it's also the most meaningless preseason game.

I propose we change the scoring system to total points scored instead of head to head matches.

Of course it isn't. Just trying to add some dynamics to the staid old system. I didn't even notice it was to my advantage. Purely coincidence.

Sarcasm meters STILL don't work in SNS forums?  With all of the time you guys save not watching games, I figured that bug would have been fixed by now.

Lots of parity in our league this year.  6-4 leader and 4-6 bottom

My bench kicks the shit out of everyone else's bench this week. Hell yeah. I've got upwards of 50 points stored away like a confused Case Keenum and Cam Newton's only half way done. My wishy-washy fans are booing like hell. Fuck 'em.

I certainly hope I get a Toyota Medal for this.

Seventy two points, oh yeah. My five bench players handily outscored my entire eleven player team. I'd like to see one of you pussies try that some time! Anyone can anticipate their points and run them out onto the field. Sure. Big deal. I hope they properly measure the ribbon on my Toyota Medal this time.

Nearly everybody went apeshit for me, producing a 153-point total. I have to gloat while I can, because *both* QBs, my best RB, and my DEF are all on byes this week.

That was a whopper week. I've got that five game streak going, but it is very precarious as my scoring has been inconsistent.

Well, the Broncos spit the bit last night and I only got 6.something points out of D. and J. Thomas, which leaves me at a decided disadvantage now. Combine that with the fact that Brees will probably shred STL for about 40 points, and I'm not looking so good.

It's just things evening out. I've had more good breaks than bad this season, so it's not surprising.

My team is falling apart. Brees has thrown two picks. You'll win in a walk.

Well, that's a screw job: I've got the Cincy D, and instead of a safety, PIT gets the ball at the 1/2-inch line and scores a touchdown. Sheeeeeee-it.

Well, this is turning out just about as poorly as it could: not only do I have the Cincy "defense", they've given up two touchdowns to Mr. Happy's Antonio Brown. Unless Megatron scores about 6 TDs tomorrow, I'm doomed.

Not to fear. you're playing me. It'll happen. It will only help things that the corner who is tasked with coovering Megatron was running his mouth in the press last week about Megatron being old at 28 and probably not very physical. Great. Now, Megatron will leave this kid in the dust by playing with a chip on his shoulder.

He had a good night, not by Megatron standards, but for your rank and file wide out in the NFL. I now get DVauthrin in the finals. My money is on him.

Congrats to Mr. Happy and DVauthrin, and good luck in the finals. One thing that makes my loss easier to take is that I would have lost no matter who I started: damn near everybody on my roster decided to take the week off, so there's no second-guessing about leaving a difference-maker on the bench. It simply wasn't my week, and that's that.

I had a bye in my league (week 17 finals, I know), so I missed out on the benefits of Jamaal Charles' legendary day.  This week I'm facing Peyton against the Texans, so I'm pretty much starting from a 50 point deficit.

Thanks. I really enjoy this league.

Thanks. I really enjoy this league.

Me too.  I enjoy it much more than getting pounded in the fantasy baseball league.

I really ought to concede early in the championship round to DVauthrin as my team has decided to go to shit this week. I'll need Kolin Kaepernick to go batshit crazy to even have a shot. Nevertheless, the league was fun again this year. I'll be back next season, and i'm already looking forward to the SnS fantasy baseball season!

This year was frustrating for me. I think I had a real good team but every game I lost, the one variable I had no control over, my opponent's scoring, is what did me in.
