I played baseball in juniors and preferred it to cricket which made me a minority. The sport was really hard to follow here because of the lack of information, sometimes the weekend papers would have scores or a very occasional article. The WA Baseball Association used to get films of MLB and show them over our summer and I started liking the Astros mainly because of the uniforms and the dome. When they started putting the www on computers it became much easier to keep up with the sport. I started checking scores daily and eventually bought the radio subscription and then MLBtv. My wife in convinced I bought a Dodge because of all the years listening to the radio where they said numerous time that ‘this broadcast is brought to you by your Texas Dodge dealers, remember, bigger in Texas better in a Dodge.’ She may be right. What was strange was when I was reading this day in Astros history on the Astros Daily site, I was born on the day the NL Commissioners voted to allow Houston to join the National League. Strange huh? Probably wouldn’t get an X Files episode out of it but it is a little weird.
