Green chile cheeseburger
« on: November 16, 2012, 08:05:27 pm »
We just had Guy Fieri on as background noise, and he wound up at Burt's Burger Bowl in Santa Fe for a green chile cheeseburger (and some other things). Looked damn good. I seem to remember that several folks have broad experience with Santa Fe food. Has anybody been to this place?

Never been to Burt's Burger Bowl, but the Bobcat Bite in Santa Fe has the best green chile cheeseburger on the planet.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Have you ever tired the green chile burger in that little place (forgot the name) in San Antonio NM?  Stopped there a couple of years ago on a MC ride to Laughlin NV for the spring river run.  We hadn't eaten since Big Spring so we were starving.  It was damn fine.

It's either the Owl Cafe or the Buckhorn Tavern. They're right next to each other and both claim the best GCCBs in town. I've eaten at both, and they're both pretty good. I'm sure they're even better when you haven't eaten in a while (Big Spring's gotta be at least a full day's ride).

Coyote Bluff Cafe in Amarillo. Little tiny hole in the wall, cash only (if I remember right), great burgers. The green chile cheese fries get served to you on a medium pizza tray.

Bobcat Bite on The Old Las Vegas Highway in Santa Fe, NM and the Buckhorn Tavern in San Antonio, NM.

The Buckhorn is a good place to go if you ever wanna check out the VLA or the birds at Bosque del Apache.

Bobcat Bite is cash only, too - for those wondering.

Wow, what a strange story.  What we're the Eckre's buying, if not the business?  At any rate, I'm sorry to hear that because they did a great job, but the Bite was there long before the Eckre's were.  It's not as if there was no Bite before them, and I'm sure there will be after them.  We'll see how good it is though.

That is weird. How can two parties have such a fundamental difference in understanding about who owns a business?

Greed blinds men to the truth. The building owners, who also own the intellectual property, i.e., the name, etc., probably prevail. However, the equities seem to be all in favor of former management, and I personally hope that their new location kicks the ever loving shit out of the old place.
