But the Golden Flat Penis has to go to Wade Philips, who stubbornly stuck with his game plan of "lets not rush the passer and force their QB to beat us with his arm." I guess someone forgot to tell him that they were *not* facing Mark Sanchez tonight.

A couple of times a year a team - even a great one - will just flat out not get a good game plan together. Rogers has been off this year...I think Wade believed he could get to him with 4 and fill the secondary with DB's to play on that fact. Rogers was hot last night...don't think it would have mattered much what was thrown at him. Good news is you guys still have an excellent record, and should have no issues within the division. Next week is a perfect opportunity to get back on track against a good team...a thumping of the Ravens will be good for the mojo.

Also, I am a firm believer that an ass-thumping can be a very positive thing (isolated, obviously)...from coaches to players it reaffirms the effort that has to be there for every meeting, practice, walk-through and game.

I honestly almost forget that A&M is even in Texas anymore. Their move to the Southeast practically feels like a physical one to me.

THIS.

I had a strong sense that this team was believing its own hype going into the Jets game. They survived that and the scare seemed to do nothing to lower the nonchalance with which they started last night's game. The ensuing ball-stomping will, hopefully, right the ship and have them coming out fired up against the Ravens.

If Jacoby Jones runs back a kick off for them next week, like he did yesterday, I may level a small village.

Philips is usually excellent, but yes, last night he laid an egg. Which was bizarre because the very *reason* Rodgers has been off this year is because teams have been smothering him because they're weak on the OL. It's as if Philips never even looked at a game film or if he did thought "you know, teams have been beating the Packers by pressuring the QB. We're gonna try the opposite."

Well it certainly reminded them that this is the NFL, and if you don't execute, and you make mistakes, any team you play can beat you. And if it's a really good team, they'll embarrass you. Hopefully they respond well.

I'm very concerned that the Texans are going to miss Cushing holding down that defense. It would be great to have them turn it around again, but he was a BIG piece to their solid defense.

Wade Philips had a much better game yesterday than he did last week. Kubiak's stupidity was not running the ball on the first possession in the 2nd half, inside your own 20, with a three touchdown lead. At least he wised up in the 4Q.

I assume you mean the next to last TD drive, which started after the Ravens scored their TD. They started at their own 20, and by three runs and four passes (including the 35 yarder to Walters) got to the Baltimore 19. They eventually punched it in by running three times after first and goal.

That was a nice drive, which they needed after Kubiak gift wrapped the Ravens' score the previous drive. But the impressive one was the last TD drive, where they ran every single play.

Again, my gripe with Kubiak was having the big lead in the 2nd half, and starting the half with 6 out the first 10 plays being a pass. Thankfully, he wised up and pounded the ball after that.
