My mistake headhunter.
fuck man, I am not always sure what I meant--mean, mistake is all mine.
To be clear:I have never considered the Rangers family. If I
had to imagine the Rangers as family they'd be some meth slut a cousin showed up with at a bachelor party. But not a brother, older or younger. I do have seven younger siblings, many of whom live in DFW and are infected with "The Range", but they have my sympathy, not my hatred.
I think the "Big Brotherly Way" was a reference to
1984, specifically thinking about the line, "we have always been at war with Eastasia." Although the horrors of
1984 could be considered quaint in the age of predator drone assassinations and advanced interrogation techniques I am reminded in a small way of the dread I felt when I first read Orwell's novel because, thanks to Bud and Crane, rivalries going back twenty years in division play and a half-century in the league no longer matter, and like in the novel the past is irrelevant. Now our Astros have always been at war with the Angles, Mariners, Athletics, and most hated of all, the Arlington Rangers. "I have always loved the DH." nope--can't say that, at least not yet.
