NL Ball in Houston, THE END... FYB!!! (9/26/12 HOU v Jakes)
« on: September 26, 2012, 06:14:32 pm »
For the love of all that is holy Houston, please kick the crap out of the Co-ards tonight!

Houston's last home NL lineup (may you choke on your own excrement William Huber Selig):

J. Altuve 2b
S. Moore rf
J. Lowrie ss
J. Maxwell cf
B. Wallace 1b
J. Castro c
F. Martinez lf
B. Laird 3b
B. Norris p

FTC(o-ards) lineup:

J. Jay cf
M. Carpenter 3b
M. Holliday lf
A. Craig 1b
Y. Molina c
A. Chambers rf
D. Descalso 2b
P. Kozma ss
C. Carpenter p
In the end, my dissolution with the game of baseball will not be a result of any loss of love for the game, rather from the realization that I can no longer bear the anger its supposed stewards cause to be built up in my soul. -Lee (01/08/2013)

So... the first pitch of the game was set aside so it could be authenticated as the 'last 1st pitch' for the Astros as an NL team... With any luck some lucky coroner may be able to identify and authenticate it as the ball shoved down W. Huber Selig's throat when he croaked... FYB

There's nothing more perfect than to have the hated Carpenter going for the Terdinals tonight. He symbolizes everything that I've come to know and to hate about the Terdinals.

It'd be nice if he'd croak before the 2013 HOF induction so that we could all meet up in MIL to piss on said grave on our way to see Biggio and Bagwell get inducted together! (Yes, wishful thinking that he'll ever die so I might as well wish big and hope for a 5 & 7 co-induction)!

I understand the risk, but asked specifically for Huber hatred and I trust that Chuck'd do me the courtesy of limiting the vitriol to Huber this one time...

And let me add, MR. THE ALTUVE with a monster shot to left make it 1-0 HOU!!!

The only guy in the dugout anywhere near Altive's size is that Japanese guy who sits at the end of the bench. I think it's Matsui's sushi chef and no one has the heart to tell him Kaz no longer plays for the team.

There is an MLB audio feed of the game here, but I haven't listened to it and it may in fact be Chris Burke doing the call.

And now he may be the answer to a trivia question for possibly years to come ... "Who was the last pitcher to get a hit at MMP?".    Maybe Norris gets one more try.

Norris has an ERA from innings 7-9 of 8.59. Just sayin'. We got a scoreless seventh out of him. I wouldn't tempt fate here. The kid needs a win in the worst way.

These two guys treat the game as a total afterthought. The count on Castro was 3-1 before they bothered to mention that the inning was even underway. Incredible.

I will admit, that like Biggio's 3,000th or his final game, that honoring an individual takes priority when there is very little at stake with the team, but yes, they shouldn't completely ignore the game.

The baseball gods are toying with us. How else to explain the beginning of this inning?
I remember all the good times me 'n Miller enjoyed
Up and down the M1 in some luminous yo-yo toy
But the future has to change - and to change I've got to destroy
Oh look out Lennon here I come - land ahoy-hoy-hoy

I absolutely agree with Tony D's going to Lopez with the tying runners on base and one out. That's a throwback to the "fireman" days of Sparky Lyle and Goose Gossage. Millsie would have never done that.

Phenomenal start by Bud! Thank you for that win HOU!!! #FYB

That interview was great. My already high level of respect and admiration for Red-Ass just went up several notches.

Loved that quote (from an otherwise obviously stoned Brocail), as well as the end of it: "...but I don't have a say in it". #FYB

And speaking of quotes, after Milo insisted on getting another kiss from Patty Smith during his 7th inning interview. someone (Brownie?) piped up that [JDs dad] was going to get jealous, and Patty (or someone) said that she was a "huge hit with the over 83 crowd."  [I thought she said it anyway, but who knows, maybe I'm stoned...]

I asked in the TZ, but is Milo's radio call online anywhere?

ETA:  Sweet, I found one.   The affiliate in Brenham.   http://tunein.com/station/?StationId=26809

Thanks for the years, Milo.  His voice will always remind me of Astros baseball.  That's a good thing.

I fondly remember the two of you conversing at an Astroline at Baker Street.  It's the only time I've ever seen two people warmly scowl at each other.

That's funny; you know, I'd forgotten about that. He and I got fairly friendly back when I went to all the ST games. We'd scowl at each other approvingly.

ETA That day at Baker Street among other things he told me how much he hated DoRay. He referred to them as clowns.

Don't bother, they're here, indeed.

To me, Milo was an iternant braodcaster who I will always remember as the voice of the Braves on Hank Aaron's 715th home run. Gene Elston and Loell Passe will always be the Astros broadcasters to me.

I didn't get to see the game last nite as my Tyler hotel room only had the Rangers. What was different about Norris last nite that made him successful? Better stuff? Better control? I see he had no walks.

He had his blister under control for one thing and was able to throw the slider with some authority all game. He lived on the corners and got the calls out there.

Thanks for that report, as I didn't see the game, except on mlb.com gameday. I haven't even bought a television up here yet since the apartment complex banned DirecTV dishes. The Angel of Death was giving him the calls, eh? It's about time that motherfucker did something right. I love it that Norris beat my most hated Terdinals pitcher to boot. Carpenter personifies everything that I hate about that club, and he's an asshole to boot. Fuck him.

If you'd bought the mlb.tv and a Roku like I told you you'd be watching all the games and you wouldn't have to fight with those hippies about any dish.
