I'm not so sure. If he told the club that he was quitting if they didn't extend him, and then they didn't extend him, and then he *didn't* quit, wouldn't that be more spineless?
It was in the middle of the season. He whined about not getting a meeting with the GM, then told the GM that he'd quit if he didn't get a meeting, then he quit and whined about it to the press. If you don't like the job and you want to quit, fine, but don't try to play the victim card. People don't quit those jobs, they retire or they get fired. It's a great job, it's one you want and you ride it as long as you can. If you put yourself in front of the success of the team because you feel like you didn't get respect, well, tough shit. Take it like a man, don't whine about how hurt you feel in the papers.
He quit. Damn few people do, and most of them are burned out or can't handle the pressure and they don't come back. He quit because he didn't feel respected, but he wants back in. That shows me too much ego and it puts him in a very, very small class of guys.
