No shit. That was a ticky-tack horseshit call that should have resulted in the manager getting run over it.

Given how inconsistently those rules are called, I'm almost of the opinion that they should just be dropped. Maybe keep the one about the leg crossing the line from the mound to 1st base. But this shit about not coming to a full stop is ridiculous.

HPU called the balk, as this one threatens to get out of hand early.

The rule ought to be simply that a balk should be called when the umpires believe that there was intent to deceive the baserunner and get rid of all of those examples of balks that presently are the rules.

Yeah, that's bullshit. At least bark a little.

He's a new skipper who is intimidated by the umpires. He needs to get run and send a message both to his players and the umpiring community that he won't take any shit.

We are absolutely horrible. The hitters' approach hasn't improved one iota or Altuve under Van Burkleo. What is it now with coaches on the team now who have two caps last names?

But "intent to deceive" is nonsense, too. It's always the pitcher's intent to deceive the runner.

I don't see any way around it. I've never had a problem with the intent to deceive part. The coming to a stop part is just garbage.

Astros got a hit, so your now safe to see a general ass kicking without fear of having the Good Guys get perfectoed or no hit in Jake Field tonight... Was my answer helpful?!?

Cedeno pitches through a bases loaded situation. I must say that I was a little surprised that Freese failed twice with the bases loaded and two outs.

Was Luhnow responsible for getting Wainwright in a Cardinals uniform? I know he was drafted by the Braves.

He wasn't GM so I wouldn't think he had anything to do with that. BTW, the key return to Atlanta when they dealt him to StL was J.D. Drew. I'm thinking they may regret that deal now.
