1. Bundesliga 2012-13
« on: August 21, 2012, 03:28:21 pm »
Saw the EPL thread and wondered if there is enough interest to discuss the Bundesliga as well.  I doubt it, but "juneberno".

So ... three Aufsteiger this year ...
Greuther Fürth topped the 2. Liga last year after a 4th the previous year.  First shot at the big time (at least in the last 15 years).
Eintracht Frankfurt missed the top spot by 2 points and returns to the 1. Liga after a single year of relegation.
Fortuna Düßeldorf beat Hertha to join the 1. Liga after spending only 2 seasons there in their climb to the top rung.

Thoughts on which (if any) will stick?  I'm thinking Hamburg, Freiburg and maybe Augsburg are vulnerable.

Meanwhile, any thoughts on whether Hertha, Köln, or Kaiserslautern have a chance to replicate Eintracht's feat and return to the 1. Liga for next year?  I think Köln has a chance, but Hertha may struggle to be considered middle-of-the-pack.

I've wanted to get into the Bundesliga more this year but Fox Soccer only shows EPL and Serie A.

Yeah, I thought about taking it up, but lack of coverage makes it tough.

Isn't in on GOL TV?  DirecTV 627 now.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

I follow it on kickers.de which has some good coverage ... in German, but the schedule, scores, standings, etc. do not need translating.

15 is my limit on Schnitzengruben.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.
