Brandon Barnes with a tremendous catch that he made more difficult by getting turned around. 1-1 Bottom 4

[MrHappySarcMeterAlert] WAIT. A. SECOND. No way Brett Wallace can have two hits already in this game - there is a LHP on the bump after all....  Shoulda never happened... How dare Brad Mills allow Brett Wallace to start against an LHP. A pox on his house I tell you... [/MrHappySarcMeterAlert]

Luhnow went through the top prospects. He was real high on Springer, DeShields, Paredes and Correa. He said Oberholzer would get called up  in September.

It'll be interesting to see where they play Paredes. CF is looking more likely. I expect him to go play CF in winter ball somewhere and come back with a chance to crack the lineup out there.

Pearce out on an ill-advised attempt to take another bag. That's just a case of not realizing the LF isn't that big.

I've already finished my recap of this shitfest, which is 12-4 in the top of the ninth with the bases loaded and only one out for Rhiner Cruz, who's already surrendered a solo home run. But Cruz gets out of it with a thank-the-lordie 6-You-3 twin killing.

I'm really disappointed in the game crew not posting even once so far.

Yes, we suck and I led the way. Apologies for not checking in earlier but I'm sure I can speak for everyone in saying that we had a wonderful, wonderful time. There were so many people there, so much good food and so many great conversations to have that it was a terrific party, and texting from the game would've meant interrupting any of the constant interactions we were having.

So, sorry that we didn't send even a peep. I feel bad about that. Nevertheless, thanks so much to Geoff and Allison for everything, and to all the great SnS family who showed up to make this night so cool.

And thanks to you guys in the GZ for holding down the fort tonight. Your work and fandom is appreciated very much.

All is forgiven. I'll still worry about everyone until all are tucked into bed, which for many of them might not happen for hours.
