Suckers! They didn't realize that they were getting road Wandy.

So far, the former Astros on the Piroots (Rodriguez and Barmes) haven't fared too well thus far in Steel City.

Hasn't Barmes been solid defensively? I think he has. They didn't have any right to expect much offensively. I'm disappointed in Wandy's performance. I always want our guys to do as well when dealt as before.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't he doing exactly what he was doing before he was dealt?

No. His Houston ERA was sub 4.

I agree.  Sometimes it's tough when they go to the Co-ards, but I agree.

I read somewhere that Barmes also got off to a real slow start defensively.

I disagree. Barmes had a very solid year at the plate last year. .244/.312/.386 (similar to his career averages), 27 doubles, 12 homers in 123 games. With the Pirates this year, he's hitting .218/.243/.311 with 13 doubles and 6 homers in 104 games. A big drop-off for him.

OK. Good catch. I remember him starting off slowly last year and didn't realize how much improvement he obviously made in the second half.

Plus, he's striking out a lot.

Wandy pitched in relief for the first time since 2006 today for the Pirates- specifically, the 18th and 19th innings, giving up 1 H, 1 BB, 3 K, 0 R, good enough for the win (his first with PIT?), as they beat the Cards 6-3.

I approve of these events.

As do I. Good for him, since he needed some good news on the pitching front since he's not been good lately. I want Wandy to succeed.

+1

And, of course, that it was against the Co-ards.
