JR Richard. I listened to his first start when he struck out the fifteen Giants and won 4-3, IIRC. Elston and Passe called him James Rodney RichardS.

He definitely flinched (who wouldn't?), but he was on the damn bag and wound up being out by a stride. If he has a normal lead, he's safe even with the flinch. I've got no idea what was going on.

Since she and I are friends, I wished her happy birthday on Facebook. Now, I don't celebrate the natal day of ex-Mrs. Happy No. 2. We're still in court eight years later.

Didn't the Astros used to have a pitcher named Santana? There's one doing something pretty special right now.

Special? A STEM IS ABOUT TO THROW A NO-HITTER. SANTANA HAS THE MET'S VERY FIRST NO HITTER IN HIS SIGHTS. HE ALMOST HAS A NO-HITTER!

With all of the pitchers  that have gone through there, it is very surprising.

There have been A LOT of steM pitchers that have thrown no-hitters after they left the steM...

It's a tie game otherwise if Joyce makes that call. Votto got the benefit of the doubt.

Domingo Santana walks. Erik Castro to 2nd.
Telvin Nash called out on strikes.
Enrique Hernandez singles on a fly ball to right fielder Bobby Borchering. Erik Castro scores. Domingo Santana to 3rd.

Taking my 2-yr old son to his first ever MLB game tomorrow night (my dad took me to the Dome when I was 2).  Hoping Wandy pitches well and the Astros score a lot of runs in the first 3 innings, because I expect that's about all I'll see.

I know there's a reason I felt the need to post that, but I can't remember what it was.

Congrats JD on the new gig!

I'd guess he was running with the pitch, and so was already down by 2nd when the ball was hit, maybe the CF has a shit arm. Of course you'd have to wonder why Castro didn't advance to 2nd, as surely there was at least a throw to the plate...

have a big time, EC. What Wandy does or does not do tomorrow will be irrelevant. What's big is your little fan of the game. Cherish that time because it is fleeting and goes by way too fast.

i saw Willie Davis do that once in LA on a ground single to CF. he was running on the pitch and never stopped. the throw back into the infield was lazy, and the rushed relay to home from the second base area had no chance. he scored standing up.
