You might be wondering why Downsie is not starting in RF with a portsider on the bump. Downsie is 3/24 (.125) against lefties this season. Of course, against righties, he isn't much better-6/40 (.150). I wonder why he hasn't started hitting yet. Was last season a fluke? Out here, when he was with the Giants, he wasn't known as a hitter (but who on the Giants before the blindingly scalding Melky Cabrera was, with the possible exceptions of Posey and Kung Fu Panda). Maybe it was.

Reminds me of the story about Mike Curtis, the Colt linebacker. He got pissed off because players started 'giving five' instead of shaking hands, so when players would approach him for the coin toss he'd growl, "Regular shake, dammit! Regular shake!"

HPU is inconsistent tonight on the low strike. You get it sometimes, but not all of the time. Keeps you guessing. I hate that.

I don't remember the team being this sloppy a few weeks ago. But they look like a team of dumb-fucks right now.
I remember all the good times me 'n Miller enjoyed
Up and down the M1 in some luminous yo-yo toy
But the future has to change - and to change I've got to destroy
Oh look out Lennon here I come - land ahoy-hoy-hoy

Everybody scrambles to the Yahoo available player list to see if Dexter Fowler is still available.

ETA: He isn't. GBB has him.

I have exactly 0 Mariners, 0 Rockies, and 1 Ranger on my Fantasy Team (Nelson Cruz, 0-3)... FML!

It'd sure be nice for Belisle to at least have an opportunity for a win tonight... [/WishfulThinking]

You just had to poke your nose in this evening to say that?

Actually, I've been expecting it during this shitfest of a series, which concludes tomorrow, thankfully.

Unless Bud takes over tomorrow the Astros are going to get swept by a team that had won like three games at home all month.

I expect Bud to get hit hard tomorrow too. There's way too much bad mojo in Denver for these guys.

The Rockies have been shitty, but they're a better team than that. Getting fuckstomped by them at home illustrates that the Astros are better than they were last year, but they still have a long way to go before they're competitive every night.

It's just been the fact that their young pitchers (and Methuselah, who they DFA'd today) have been the problem. Also not hitting well at home. But I think that they solved that problem in this series at least.
