Last NL tour
« on: March 07, 2012, 12:07:29 pm »
Anyone planning on visiting some out of town Astros games this year before the switch to the AL?

There are some NL parks I have always wanted to visit, and figured I would have plenty of time to catch the Astros playing there in the years to come.  However with the league change, they will be less significant, until they all merge into one big sucky DH league as talked about in another thread.

Anyway, it looks like I will be headed to Wrigley August 13-15.

I would love to visit Busch, not sure I will get that chance this year, though.

I'm gonna finally make it to Petco Park and AT&T Park this season.

I think that I've done all the good NL parks. I will be at AT&T park this summer a few times. If anyone is coming out to the bay area for a game or whatnot (I shouldn't say that here), let me know.

If you make your way out here to see the Nationals, let me know.

I may have to be in DC in June. If I come, I'll give you fair warning.

Please do, but the Astros will also be here in April.

I can't see getting there for a paid reason before June. Damnit to hell.

I'll be in Los Angeles, SD (maybe) Colorado and Milwaukee.

I'm super pumped about the last week in Milwaukee - I want to see the Astros crush the Brewers playoff hopes in person.

I doubt it. That stupid "kid in college" thing is completely cramping my entertainment budget. Thankfully, she'll be graduating in two months!

I will be at one of the games.

Heading to Miami to see their new stadium in April.

Calling that place "The Fish Tank" is inevitable, right?

Unless they're a crappy team, in which case it'll be called "The Bowl".

Considering there are actual fish tanks in the stadium, I just assumed that had already happened.

I look forward to an errant Strasburg pitch creating a "rain" delay.

Would love to make a road trip to St. Louis, Pitt, and San Fran, but of those three, the most probable is St. Louis.

Yep, great setting for a ballpark. I love the smell of garlic in the evening.

Then you'll want to stay at the Days Inn if you ever go to Rockport.

Then consider my tip with extreme caution, I was using the name-your-own-price feature of Priceline, and I low-balled myself. I was hoping for the Hampton or the Holiday Inn Express  but got Days Inn.  In the past I've had great luck using that feature, this time I misjudged the market. Anyway, just got back from there, had a good trip. Caught a bunch of reds and drums but also way too many hard-heads and sting-rays. Wednesday we had a guy take us out in an air boat to some hard-to-get-to flats. I'd never done that before. It was a blast.

Not to worry. I have a family condo down there that I use when I go. I'm from that part of the world and miss it terribly during the warm weather months. Glad to hear you had a great trip.

Absolutely!  They have a beltsander drag track in the back with lights and all.  They were doing it once a month when the weather is nice.
