Never really got worked up about Hitchens, one way or another, but he sure was one of a kind. 
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Hitchens personified the definition of erudite. He made me really think, even when I disagreed with him, which was often. He will be missed. HH was correct: Hitchens was one of a kind.
