The 21-year-old Maracay native is hitting .378 with an on-base percentage of .409 through 38 games, good enough to be among the league leaders in average, at-bats, runs scored, hits, doubles, triples, total bases, extra-base hits and slugging.

Well, sarcasm noted, but Vlad-ish power would of course be a welcome add-on to the Altuvian skill set, such as it is.

According to these stats on astros.com, he's walked 10 times in 42 games, which equates to about 40 in a full season. That's not great, but it's around Tejada/Pence territory. Obviously he'll have to be more selective than what we saw in the majors this year, but maybe he's the kind of player that, with just a little more patience, can manage to hit .320 and eek out a .340-.350 OBP with a shitload of doubles. I'll take that.

Of course, if you want Winter Ball walks, Bogusevic has 27 in 33 games... maybe he should be the #2 hitter next year.
