Friday Beer Thread 11/18/2011

Saint Arnold "Sailing Santa".  Picked up a couple at Spec's.  Drinking it now...it's hoppy as all hell.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

FYI, it's just a mix of the their Christmas Ale and St Elissa IPA.  So, you can "make" yourself one a lot cheaper than you can buy it.
Let me explain something to you. Um, I am not "Mr. Lebowski". You're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.

Yeah, it says so right on the label.  I wasn't really implying that it was a bargain.

I had a shit ton of beers last night (some would say too many). The two that stand out to me were the (512) Pecan Porter and the Karbach "Yule shoot your eye out". I had the Lips of Faith Fresh Hops and several others. Most good. Some shitty. That's all I've got.
I love Geoff Leach.  Every day.

I had a Belgian Sour the other night. It was interesting, almost like a cider. I don't remember the maker.

I have a La Folie sour in my beer fridge. I have tried it at a tasting before and thought it was pretty good. It's the last thing you can drink in that session though, as it will ruin your taste buds.

I couldn't drink it like I would any beer. Not sure what the ABV was but it seemed up there.

Had three pitchers of ABW Battle Axe tonight at Billy's on Brnet. Love it. Was also fond of Tommyknocker Cocoa Porter, thought BeerAdvocate.com was not so much.

We;re doing a beer tasting at my tailgate tomorrow.
