Just realized that of the Astros 18 remaining games this season, exactly 1/2 - nine - will be broadcast on FSH, and thus be available to anyone outside of Houston (i.e., who cannot pick up my20) without MLBTV.

It is just as well.  Fuck it.  I'm going out.

See if he's got any arb eligibility left, he sounds like he could play right field for the club.

If someone wants to find it (I don't) I promise you two months ago or so we were joking in here about the various ways the Astros have fucked shit up this year. Someone pointed out that no baserunner had been hit by a ball and we agreed we had that to look forward to. So now what?

Altuve is starting to piss me off with this swinging at every pitch. I had great success against guys like that because you either start them off with an outside pitch that they roll over on, or you pitch them up and in and either pop them up, break their bat or both. He's going to have to get over that. Seriously.

Even DoRay had figured that out, doing some weird chirpy tradeoff on how his strike zone is getting expanded. Odd to hear even a baseball nugget from them without the excessive didacticism attached.

The first was a very nice change. JD was about thirty seconds too early. The next two were fastballs up around the armpits. It wasn't like JD let it rip and missed them. In each case he realized early in the swing that he had fucked up and just sort of gave up, stumbling through the remainder of the swing. As Subie said, it was horrible.

Nobody recognized my Enos Cabell tattoo.

It's not authentic if he's not grabbing his crotch.

I was about to say they must have thought he was some sort of rapper, you know, the crotch grabbing and the rainbow gut. It's an easy mistake to make.

Hey Jimmy, just eat it you stupid fucker. Don't you know the game situation?

Three or four times tonight I've looked at the Nats' lineup and wondered how the fuck they can be twenty games ahead of the Astros and three or four times the Astros have shown me exactly how that might be.

I'm going to go boil some crabs.

What happened?

Going on what I heard from DoRay, Paredes knocked down a ball off Werth's bat that, if it got through, would score the winning run.  The runner from 2B stopped at 3B, but Paredes threw to 2B to try to get the out, and threw the ball away.  The runner who'd stopped at 3B scored then.

Earlier chuck was asking about what new ways they could fuck up a game. I don't think we had this one on our list yet.

You never never never throw behind the lead runner.

You never never never throw behind the lead runner.

Especially when you're on your knees and the guy you're trying to throw out is already standing on the bag looking around.
